Maria is working as Creative Research Collaborator and Access Consultant on Christopher Hogg’s Arts Council England funded research and development project of The Book That Listens Back / 9 Holidays I Wish I Hadn’t Been On.

Maria is currently working with interactive theatre company ZU-UK and Brazilian artists and game designers Leo Souza and Wzy as a creative access consultant on a disabled- and global-majority-led Brazil–UK collaboration. She is supporting the development of SONAR, a mobile game pilot within the world of Tudo Está Queimando (Everything Is Burning), ZU-UK’s end-of-the-world survival work in which blind and partially sighted audiences are the default players, rather than an accommodation. Maria is part of a group of expert advisers shaping non-visual design from the ground up, exploring how sound, touch and trust can form the foundations of powerful world-building. Her consultancy runs throughout 2026, with a remit extending across the wider game world as it develops.

I am profoundly saddened to have learned about the recent tragic passing of Persis Jadzé Maravala, Co-Artistic Director of Zu UK, and my collaborator friend. An Amazon warrior for truth, justice and creative beauty, the present pain of her loss will be eventually replaced with an infinity of her fierce fiery spirit, a part of which she has left burning in the many that she has touched around the world. My loving thoughts are with Jorge and their family at this time.

2025/Present

(Un)Buried Alive is a participatory audio project for anyone who lives or works in Wandsworth.
Taking inspiration from ’Buried Alive’ Arnold Bennett’s early 20th Century novel which features famous artist, Priam Farll, happily disappearing into Putney under an assumed identity, and Maria Oshodi’s audio dramatisation of the work:

Focussing on ideas of happiness, joy and self identity, we’re keen to find out the answer to the following question:
We want to create an audio map and walk of everyday places that matter to you, throughout Wandsworth. It can be about anywhere that you love, including your local park, favourite bus stop, the charity shop with all the good stuff, or even your own sofa.
